?IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED!

Add ‘GOING TO THE GYM’ back into your diary from?Saturday June 6th!
The gym floor, the front doors and our arms will be open to welcome you back into all Roar Fitness facilities. We know you’re as excited as we are that this is finally happening!
On behalf of all our staff and management, we would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support and understanding throughout the past 3 months.

Phase 3?will see an increase in the number of people at non-work gatherings and additional businesses will be permitted to reopen.

  • -The 4 square metre rule will be revised to?2 square metres per person for all WA venues.
  • -Physical distancing, good hygiene and the 2 square metre rule will apply to all activities permitted in Phase 3.
  • -Non-work indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people per single undivided space, up to 300 people in total per venue over multiple spaces?(100/300 rule).
  • -Gyms, health clubs, indoor sports centres will be able to offer the normal range of activities, including use of all gym equipment (gyms must be staffed at all times and undertake regular cleaning).
  • -Facilities may increase capacity to 100 patrons in each room.
  • -Change rooms, showers, saunas?and toilets can reopen.
  • -Equipment can be shared but should be cleaned between each class/training session.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ROAR MEMBERS?
Although majority of services will go back to normal, there are a handful of changes that will still stay in place for now:

NEW OPENING HOURS COMMENCING SATURDAY 6TH JUNE (all clubs)
Monday-Thursday 5:00am – 9:00pm;
Friday 5:00am – 7:00pm;
Saturday & Sunday 6:00am – 5:00pm

Please remember to bring a towel to each training session and your own water bottle. We have a strict NO TOWEL – NO TRAINING policy.
Whilst we appreciate that the revised opening hours may not suit all members we would ask all members to be understanding & accommodating during these times of government-imposed restrictions.

WHAT?S NEW?
Whilst our industry was forced to a standstill, we have continued to innovate,??invest & give back to our loyal members. We are focused on ensuring that we are consistently improving our on-going member services- all clubs have had facelifts and we are excited to launch a new member service platform also delivered through our app. Stay in touch as this service unfolds over the coming weeks!!

ROAR GROUP FITNESS:
Up until and including Sunday June 7th, we will continue to run classes only with our pay-as-you-go system.

From Monday June 8th classes will still require booking in advance through the use of the Roar Fitness 247 App or booked on the roarfitness247.com.au website. There will be no cost to members, but bookings are essential to all as class sizes have been reduced slightly to ensure proper social distancing.

TIMETABLES:
Our group fitness timetables and rosters will be finalised by the end of this week. We thank you for your patience while we work on these. We will share these on socials and on our website once they are ready.

CLUB CLEANING:
We?have implemented Increased cleaning rotations in high touch points across our clubs. You will notice our PTs and staff conducting extra?sanitisation of equipment?during peak times and reminding members to do the same. We?are encouraging good hygiene practices with additional sanitiser?dispensers and paper towels provided at high touch points in our clubs and the display of government health authority notices. Implemented strict internal procedures, policies and guidelines?with all our staff and management teams to ensure we continue to provide a healthy work/workout environment for all in our communities.
Roar has gone to great lengths to increase protocols for the safety of our members. Our team is working hard and we are committed to providing a COVID safe club for all. Please refer to our website here for all information regarding the club?s policies during Stage 3 of the Corina Virus restrictions.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP:
All membership direct debits will re-commence from Thursday June 11th.

For members who paid their fees upfront, your memberships will be extended for the same amount of time that we were closed so you get the use of the gym for the time you paid for.

If you have questions relating to your membership, are unable to return just yet or if you are experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVD, please contact our team in club for assistance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: What will be the creche hours?
A: From Monday May 8th?creche at all clubs will resume normal hours, bookings are still through Yep Booking at this time.

Q: When will the pools and swim school re-open at Bibra Lake?
A: We are aiming to re-open the pools at Bibra Lake from the 15th?and will send out further communication on this once ready. Swim school will re-commence from June 22nd.

Q: How does the phase 3 restrictions affect me?
A: The main restrictions during phase 3 is that the club must be staffed in order to open and we must abide by the 2sqm rule. As the club already implemented a COVID safety plan during phase 2, a lot of internal club protocols changed then. Phase 3 allows all members back and as our clubs are larger in nature, we can cater for everyone to come back as normal.

Q: What is available for me as a member during phase 3?
A: All areas of the clubs are resuming as per usual with the exception of the Bibra Lake pool area. All other services will be open including showers, infrared saunas, creches, member lounges, Roar Bar & Grill and Crush Caf?.

Reopening Procedure

STAY HOME: If you have any symptoms whatsoever related to COVID-19 or?Flu-Like.

2. FACE COVERING
We do not require you to wear a facemask when attending the club. We?expect that if you are showing any symptoms you will not attend.

If you sneeze we expect you to sneeze into your arm as encouraged by the Australian health professionals.

3. PHYSICAL DISTANCING
Please at all times keep 1.5m distance between yourself and other members?while in the club.
Do not high five or shake hands when greeting other members or instructors.

Please while waiting for class or on your way to or from the studio rooms keep your distance as outlined from the Australian government

4. CLEANLINESS
Before entering the club please ensure your hands are washed and cleaned?thoroughly.

Entering the club, you will be asked to take your temperature and to sanitize your hands at the entrance. Please limit the objects you touch during your training.

Please disinfect all equipment after use, Roar will provide disinfectant cloths and spray bottles for every class and have one for each member.

5. CLASS NUMBERS

Class numbers during stage 2 will be limited to 20 people at one time, please respect physical distancing and ?DO NOT loiter in the lobby or reception/ car park areas. We miss you too but please for the next few months please respect the physical distancing efforts to keep yourself and others safe.

As we navigate through the reopening of our locations, there will be some new things to expect during each phase. Amenities and programming will vary by club and will be consistent with governmental orders and guidelines. We appreciate your help and understanding as we work through this time together.

FAQ

What are the hours of operation during phase 2?

Operating hours will only be during class times 30 minutes before the first class and 30 minutes after. Please check our website and social platforms to stay up to date with timetables.

How many members are allowed in the gym at the same time?

We will be limiting the number of members in the club at any given time based on the local government guidelines, this will change as we go through the stages of reopening on WA?s roadmap released from the State Government. For phase 2 we are limited to 20 people per class not including employees, coaches, or instructors.

What amenities are not available yet?

Currently, it is the only group exercising that is permitted. At this time locker rooms, shower facilities, pools, saunas, spas and open gym training is not permitted. Toilets are available for those that need it.

Do I need to wear a face mask while working out?

The Health Department does not recommend the use of face masks unless you are unwell so we ask that if you have symptoms or feel unwell to please stay home.

What are your physical distancing guidelines while in the club?

We ask you to follow the same rules set out by the Western Australian Government and keep to 1.5m between yourself and others at all times. We will be allocating floor space of 1 person per 4 square meters. We are lucky at Roar that our facilities are very large and the 4 square meter rule is easy for us to maintain.

What else is Roar doing to keep the gyms clean?

Roar is requesting that all members disinfect equipment before and after use, we are providing extra disinfectant and cleaning equipment and multiple hand sanitizer locations. We will have Roar staff cleaning all open areas of the clubs throughout each day and doing a deep clean every night after closing.

Can I use a guest pass to visit the gym?

Only Roar members will be allowed in the clubs at this time. If you would like to trial our facilities you will need to speak to one of our fitness consultants for further information.

How will the billing of my membership work?

As each new phase is released from the government, we will review the change of restrictions with respect to our members. At this stage, only RFX memberships will re-commence and group fitness will be a pay-as-you-go. All other memberships remain suspended.?

When will all Roar clubs be open?

With the health and safety of our communities at the heart of everything we do, we will work with local, state, and federal officials to determine the best path to re-opening gyms on a case-by-case basis. Once plans are in place, we will notify each club?s members via email and social media as we lift restrictions on each club.

ROAR COVID-19 GUIDELINES:

Definitions

Cleaning: Means to physically remove germs (bacteria and viruses), dirt, and grime from surfaces using a detergent and water solution. A detergent is a surfactant that is designed to break up oil and grease with the use of water.

Disinfecting: Means using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. It?s important to clean before disinfecting because dirt and grime can reduce the ability of disinfectants to kill germs. Disinfectants containing, 80% alcohol is what we use.

STOCK AT EACH CLUB? ? Each club must stock at all times

  1. Hand sanitizer stations at reception and each class area
  2. Sanitizer spray bottles 20 in each classroom for 1 x each person and 1?per PT on the gym floor
  3. Disinfecting Wipes
  4. Antimicrobial soap for hand washing (pumpor automatic dispenser)
  5. Linen chucks cloths for sanitizer stations

Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures
Daily Routine: ?Disinfect? all equipment used that day and always in between?each workout session.

Weekly Routine:? ?Clean? and ?disinfect? all equipment in the studio.

Please Note: ?All clear spray bottles are labeled with cleaning solutions in them (i.e. Equipment Cleaner = Water / Cleaning Solution ? Equipment Sanitiser = Sanitiser Solution).

Rubber Flooring Tiles

The following must be done ?daily?:

Vacuum the floor first to get as much dust as you can so you won?t spread it around.

Use a mild soap or detergent to mop the flooring.
When dry, use a disinfection solution to mop the flooring.

Please Note: ??Do ?NOT? use anything acidic to clean the rubber tiles like vinegar. It will eat through the tiles and cause them to degrade faster, only use what is provided.

Also, use a mop made from nylon. Cotton mops tend to leave bits and pieces behind.

Sled Track (Artificial Indoor Gym Turf)

Remove spills as soon as possible by first blotting up access liquids and then spotting with a non-residue based cleaner (soap and water is ok). If that doesn’t remove the spot, please let the club manager know who will alert the professional cleaners.

The following must be done ?daily?:

1. Vacuum using an industrial vacuum provided. Ensure you vacuum in both directions to ensure full coverage of the area.

2. Mop all surfaces and use a floor disinfectant solution to ensure it?s ready for the next day.

Rubber Equipment

(Dumbbells, Medicine Ball, Slam Ball, Balance Trainer, Swiss Balls)

This applies to rubber-coated dumbbells, rubber-coated weight plates, or any other rubber surfaces or parts on other equipment.

The following must be done daily and weekly:
(Weekly)??
Clean using the cleaning solution provided in a spray bottle.

(Weekly)?? Spritz the solution onto the surface and wipe the surface clean with a lint-free cloth

(Weekly)?? After cleaning, dry with a lint-free cloth.

(Between Workouts/Daily/Weekly) ??Before applying the disinfectant, put on a pair of gloves to?protect your skin. ?Disinfect with a disinfectant spray solution or wipe.
Please Note:
??Do NOT use a harsh cleaner as you can possibly take some of?the rubber off.

Steel Equipment?(Sledgehammers, Plyometric Boxes Set, Watson Dumbbells, Barbells, etc)

The following must be done daily and weekly:

Clean using the cleaning solution provided in a spray bottle.

(Weekly)?? Spritz the solution onto the surface and wipe the surface clean with a lint-free cloth

Please Note: ??To prevent rusting of equipment do not ?air dry, remove all excess moisture with a dry cloth.

C?LUB ENTRY PROCEDURE
NOTE: MEMBERS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO DOORS

  1. Each person will need to have their temperature read before entering (stay 1.5m away from each other) Encourage people to come 15 minutes before to allow for this process
  2. Hand sanitizer stations at reception must be used by each member when entering the club
  3. Discourage cash transactions at all times when members make any purchase
  4. Members must sanitize hands before using iPads or Eftpos machines or touching Pens for forms. Where we can utilize touch-free processes.

GENERAL CLUB POLICY ? NO LOITERING

Roar discourages all members from socializing at the club. Please ask all members to move on as soon as practicable as socializing after class is now prohibited. No standing in car parks and reception areas. We all must look out for one another and help pull each other up if you see people that are too close to each other. It is natural for us to lose track and we are all social animals so help each other by calling each other out when you see it.

PERSONAL TRAINING PROCEDURE
NOTE: MEMBERS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO DOORS ? PT?s must meet?them at reception.

  1. Each person will need to have their temp read before entering (stay 1.5m away from each other) Encourage people to come 15 minutes before to allow for this process
  2. Hand sanitizer stations at reception must be used by each member when entering the club
  3. Please keep a good distance from your client where possible with minimal tactile cues when running the session.
  4. Eachtimeaclienthasfinishedonamachineitmustbedisinfected before moving to the new machine. (The PT is responsible for this and must carry their open bottle, allocated by Roar)

Social distancing and hygiene

Every Western Australian needs to play their part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This means following good hygiene habits and social distancing.

? ?Stay home if you’re sick. Do not go to work or school.

? ?Keep 1.5 meters away from others.

? ?Don’t make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical?greetings, such as handshakes, hugs, and kisses.

? ?Use tap and pay instead of cash.

? ?Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and?water or an alcohol-based sanitizer.

? ?Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a flexed?elbow or a tissue; if you use a tissue, dispose of it immediately and appropriately.

Phase 2 Updates 14.05.20

Roar Fitness 247 ? Phase 2 Update

Roar Fitness is happy to announce that slowly over the coming weeks and months we will be re-opening our clubs. The decision to open will be based around set conditions and protocols implemented from Monday, May 18, 2020 in Western Australia. The decision to open will also come with some updated operating procedures and guidelines to follow.

As we begin to reopen and navigate through this process, we are committed to providing our teams and members with a clean and safe environment. There will be new things to expect during each phase of this cycle. Amenities and programming will vary by club and will be compliant with government policies and recommendations.

This encouraging step towards the full return of services provided by Roar has been made possible by the easing of social distancing restrictions and group gatherings, as announced by WA Premier Mark McGowan recently.

Under the State Government?s COVID-19 WA Road Map, May 18 represents the date that Phase 2 conditions will be applied to WA Communities, which will allow for a return to…

To ensure the safe return to training from May 18, Roar Fitness has been working tirelessly to ensure alignment with local councils and Government bodies to develop a series of guidelines for clubs to follow to allow for your safe return.

As part of this strategy, all clubs will adhere to a mandatory cleaning checklist for clubs to complete, hygiene and small group training protocols, as well as online COVID-19 infection control training for all staff.

Please refer to our Phase 2 FAQ for club operating procedures, cleaning protocols and online resources.

It is important that all of our valued members clearly understand the requirements for a safe return to training at Roar Fitness so we can continue contributing to positive community health outcomes.

It is also important to note that although Return to Training in small groups will be permitted, it is still expected to be some time before Roar Fitness can return to its full capacity of services, due to a number of Government restrictions required to be lifted before this occurs.

Everyone?s ongoing support, patience and understanding as we work through this process is greatly appreciated. ?Further updates will be provided as soon as they become available. Together we will fight and together we are strong.

Summary of key conditions:

  • Upon entry it is mandatory for all members to undergo a temperature check. Anyone found to be running a high temperature will be turned away.
  • Upon entry?it is mandatory for?all?members?to?use?hand sanitiser?provided by Roar.
  • If you are sick or showing signs of being unwell, please?do not under any circumstances attend a facility. Please do not be offended if instructors ask you to leave if you are?showing signs of being?unwell.
  • No shared equipment.?There will be no sharing of equipment during sessions at any club. Each member will have their own sanitiser bottle provided by the club, please do not share sanitiser bottles or cloths- there will be enough for everyone.
  • Staff have completed government COVID-19 courses and best practice courses, please listen to their instructions.?If you have any feedback or concerns on staff or other member behaviour please email the club?manager.
  • Physical distancing is required while in the club?at all times.?Please ensure you stay 1.5m away from other members whist waiting for temperature checks on the way in or when picking equipment from racks.
  • No physical contact. Whilst it has always been part of Roar?s culture for high fives and positive embrace, please keep all that to the side until we have beaten this virus, we all must work together.
  • Roar have intensified and increased?cleaning rosters to go above and beyond Government guidelines to ensure the safe environment we all hold dear,?and to ensure we can continue to use our facilities.
  • At this time there is NO access to change rooms or gym floors permitted. Pools, saunas and spas will be re-considered for opening in the phase 3 updates.?All current toilet facilities will be available, after washing your hands please use the sanitiser provided before leaving the bathrooms.
  • All members and personal trainers must take full responsibility for wiping down their own equipment before and after use. Everyone will be provided their own disinfectant bottle so please do not share with someone else.
  • Strictly no loitering before or after classes please.?Again it goes against the culture we have built for the last 6 years but we ask that all members please leave the club as soon as practicable and not to remain on site socializing with other members. Staff will ask you to move on if you are found to be loitering so please respect our guidelines and keep socializing for another time.
  • We encourage you to get to the gym 15 minutes prior to your booking to allow?time?for any delays?entering the?club?such as temperature checks and sanitiser measures, especially in the first week as we navigate through this. Please follow the?markers?on the ground for physical distancing.

What's happening to your membership while we are closed 27.03.20

Following the Prime Minister?s address on the immediate closure of fitness facilities across the nation, it is with great sadness that we announce all Roar Fitness 247 & RFX Athletic locations have temporarily closed from midday Monday 23rd of March.

We want to thank all our members for your ongoing support during this time, and to let you know, that ALL memberships have been placed on a Time Freeze, and NO fees will be charged until our gyms are reopened.

Like many of you, our business is facing unprecedented impacts both on our members and staff, but we will continue to work through this time together as we believe we can still make a difference, change lives and build healthy communities.

QUESTIONS BEING ASKED:?

Will I still be charged for my membership while the gym is closed?
No. All memberships have been put on a Time Freeze, and NO FEES will be charged until our gyms reopen. You do not need to contact us to hold your payments as this has been done automativally for every Roar Fitness & RFX Athletic member.

No one is answering when I call?
Due to the forced closure, all our staff have been sent home, so there is no one to answer your call. If you need to contact us regarding something that isn’t mentioned below, please send us a message via Facebook, and we will do our best to get back to you in a timley manner.

How will I know when the gyms will re-open?
When government allows us to safley re-open, we will be sure to let you know through our website, social media channels and other forms of communication. To keep up with all other information in the meantime, esure you are following our Facebook Page

I am on a prepaid membership, how does this affect me?
The automatic freeze on membership means we will hold the remainder of time you have left on your upfront membership and you will be entitled to that time when we are open again.
For example, if you still have 6 months remaining, we will freeze your membership and you will still have 6 months remaining when we reopen.

Will this affect the duration of my contract?
Your membership terms will remain the same, the length of time you have remaining will begin again once the clubs reopen.
For example, if? you have 3 months remaining, your membership will be on hold and you will have 3 months remaining when the club reopens.

Can I cancel my membership?
Your membership has automatically been placed on a Time Freeze, and you will not be charged any fees until we are able to welcome you back into your local club. If you would like to cancel, please speak to your local club team once we reopen.

Is there anything available online to keep me motivated?
Yes! We have just lauched the Roar Fitness 247 App, available now from your phone app store.

Can I donate or keep paying my membership to support the gym?
We have generously been asked from many of our members if they can continue to pay their regular membership to support the gym. Unfortenly due to the forced close, we can not take regular payments from any account. However we have set up two options for those who are lucky enough to be in a position to offer finacial support

Here’s some key tips to keep you going

Stick to your normal training routine as best you can, if you used to come in for an early morning session, keep doing training at that time.

Put your workout gear on, so it feels like it usually does.

We understand your home setup may not be the same as coming to the gym, be creative there is still a lot of options for you and our Roar Fitness 247 app is a great tool to keep you motivated.

All Roar Fitness Gyms closed as of 12pm Monday 23.03.20

Due to the?announcement delivered by?parliament late last night, we have?unfortunately?found ourselves included as a service being forced to close our doors as of 12pm today, Monday 23rd March 2020.

It’s with great disappointment?that the outbreak of CV-19 has lead to this, and we hope all our Roar family stays safe during this time, and continue to include fitness and healthy eating into your lifestyle to ensure your immune system stays strong.

Zoono Surface Sanitiser to all Roar Fitness & RFX Athletic locations: 21.03.20

We’re happy to let our members know that on Friday 20th March we obtain a booking to have Zoono Surface Sanitiser sprayed over the entire facility at Bibra Lake. We have all other Roar Fitness and RFX Athletic locations also booked in for this same application of Zoono early next week.

This Surface sanitiser has proven to be 99.99% effective against coronavirus, and is what’s being sprayed throughout all our hospitals and aged care facilities.

As you can imagine, the demand for this service is high, so we’re excited to have this applied to all sites by mid week, providing an even safer environment for all our members to continue looking after their health and fitness.

Even after all locations have been treated, we still ask that you continue to use the hand santiser supplied, ensure you wipe down your equipment before and after use and limit unnecessary contact, ie hugs, handshakes, partner training etc.

About Zoono:

What we're doing in response to Coronavirus – 12.03.20

Dear Roar Community,

There is deep concern in our community for those abroad affected by the spread of Coronavirus and now more recently those affected here in Australia. At times like this, we are reminded of the need for compassion and perspective as we plan to meet the needs of our members and our community.

The purpose of this email?is to confirm that Roar Fitness has a?contingency plan in an effort to protect its members and we wanted to share with you the below.

What We Are Doing!
We thought we would share with you the high standard of hygiene we already promote in our clubs. To put your mind at ease we?also encourage simple behaviours that will help our Roar Facilities?continue being a happy, healthy and hygienic environment.

1. We regularly clean touch areas with disinfectant – door handles, sinks and benches.

2. We?clean the equipment regularly including pressure washing with disinfectant on all our rubber flooring and mats.

3. We are currently installing Gelair Sanitising blocks in all refrigerated air-conditioning systems in the clubs.

4. Our team are focused on personal hygiene ensuring we?wash our hands, as well as regular use of hand sanitiser.
